Title: EXOTIC STATES IN STRONGLY CORRELATED ELECTRON SYSTEMS

Abstract: Exotic states emerged by electron correlations are realized as a critical point in correlated multi-component systems. The exotic states are characterized by contradictory properties, for instance, the single-particle spectra open an excitation gap, while the charge compressibility and the spin susceptibility exhibit the features of gapless excitations. A three-component Falicov-Kimball model, in which the exotic states occur, is introduced. The dynamical mean field theory and the exact diagonalization are used to investigate the critical point of the model. It is found both the charge compressibility and the spin susceptibility are universal scaling functions of temperature when a long-range ordering occurs.
